Miniature mounting can be provided in two styles – Court Mounted and Swing.
However, it is very rare to swing mount a miniature group since they are usually worn indoors on formal occasions.
Miniature groups are usually mounted in the same way as full size groups. Examples of court mounted miniature groups are shown in the top row of photos.
The use of the brooch pin can cause damage to formal clothing when miniature groups are worn. Kiwi Medal Mounting offers an alternative – the use of strong magnets to hold the group in place. Photos of this method of mounting are shown in the bottom row.
Health Warning: if a medal wearer has a heart pacemaker, the magnetic option should not be used.
The width of of a miniature group does not exceed 148 mm – ie: 9 medals. For groups of
10 or more medals the ribbons are overlapped. The height of a miniature group is 57mm.
The cost of mounting a miniature group is $40 per medal. There is an additional charge for pre-1945 ribbon.
If the magnetic option is chosen, there is an additional charge per group depending on the size.
