Full Size Medals

Full size mounting can be provided in two styles – Court Mounted and Swing.

Court mounted medal groups are shown in the top row of photographs.

Swing style mounting is illustrated in the first two photos on the bottom row.

Medals are mounted on stiffened cardboard with the pin brooch (sometimes called a suspender or mounting bar) built into the board – see bottom right photo.

Ribbons are glued onto the base board and the individual medals are wired to the board.
This prevents the medals from knocking into each other and causing nicks and edge  bruising.

As noted earlier, all medals are cleaned, polished, lacquered (if necessary) and new ribbon (unless otherwise requested) is used for all mounting.

The width of a full size medal group generally does not exceed 165 mm and is 95 mm high. A five medal group would be (depending on the ribbon width) approximately 160 mm wide.

For groups of 6 or more medals, the ribbon is over-lapped so that the overall width
does not exceed 165 mm.  To minimise damage to clothing, a complimentary plastic pocket holder is included with every group of four full size medals.

The cost of mounting a full size group is $40 per medal. There is an additional cost for pre-1945 ribbon.
